Antonio’s 1st Day of High School

Our beautiful beautiful angel Antonio started high school this morning. WOW WOW WOW! So many emotions, some good, some sad, all delicately examined. But in the final analysis we choose grateful, we have to. As a parent of a beautiful angel, who at this time in his life cannot verbalize to us, we have to trust more than we sometimes would like or want to. Trust that the transportation staff, the para professionals, the educators, the administrators, the…SYSTEM has our beautiful Antonio’s best loving interest at heart. Too often I hear parents complain about educators and “the system” and I’m sure there are times when complaints are probably valid, as I’m sure is the case with any Big Business…but I can’t go there and will not go there this glorious day because I choose to absolutely believe in, and embrace, the Law of Reciprocity. I have to focus on giving all I can to others so that my goodwill and passionate intent will help my beautiful Antonio on his new journey.
More than I deserve for sure and never will I quit till the Miracle Happens!

and I LOVE educators!

Day 130 of Medical Cannabis journey…

Day 130 of our Medical Cannabis journey trying to find a healthier more holistic healing solution for our Antonio’s self injurious and aggressive behaviors and some days are just more challenging than others. We have still yet to find the perfect mix of natural and western pharmacological healing medicines but we will continue to embrace this sacred journey and “surf the struggle” no matter how big the waves appear. Feeling extremely grateful for having more than I deserve and staying positively positive.

Road trip diner fun with Antonio…

A wonderful fun weekend was had by all. Birthday celebration for mi esposa hermosa Ana. We also enjoyed a fun road trip to Los Angeles and picked up our beautiful niece Deimy to spend the summer with us. Father’s Day was the best… And after 69 days experimenting with medical cannabis to help Antonio with his self-injurious behaviors we experienced another beautiful “win” with our angel. On the way back from LA to San Diego we stopped in a local diner for lunch and our handsome boy did AMAZING! Hard to best this fantastic weekend but can’t wait to do so.

Keep moving forward no matter what the difficulties…

Time for a little “live action” with my boy before the sun goes down on yet another beautiful San Diego evening. Time to also get my “rump roast” off the deck and stop feeling sorry for myself and for my boy and just keep my “arse” moving forward no matter what. We are all capable of so much more if only we just keep moving. Hiding in the pain and the struggle will never be a solution, never. Recognizing the pain and struggle but NOT jumping on its seductive raft as it floats down the rapids and over that waterfall is key. We are never alone and it is our responsibility to show other families who suffer that our struggle just might be our greatest possession.
Don’t quit till the Miracle Happens!

This too shall pass…

I’ve heard it said that “the value lies in the journey” but sometimes I just don’t believe it…or maybe it’s just that I really don’t want to believe it…especially after my son tantrums outside the physical therapy office for almost an hour yesterday lashing out at staff and trying to injure anyone and everyone that comes within his reach. Day 45 of our medical cannabis experiment/journey almost over and some days are just…how should I put it…more “different” than others. Never… Ever are we giving up hope but we are definitely praying harder to find a kinder and more holistic healing solution for children like our Antonio that experience similar struggles and don’t have all the luxuries we have. If we persist, remarkable things will happen and we sure Ain’t Quitting till the Miracle Happens!
